Management of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) together with Staff of School of Veterinary Medicine (SVM) has commissioned a Pet Lodge and Histopathology Laboratory on 23rd July 2020. The facilities are both located at SVM, KNUST.
According to Professor Benjamin Emikpe, Dean of SVM, the Pet Lodge, which is the first of its kind in Ghana, would serve as a one-stop location that would provide all pet care needs and services. The nine-cubicle facility would be opened to staff of the University and the general public at a fee.
Professor Emikpe added that the Histopathology laboratory is essential for the School as it plays a role in teaching and learning of Veterinary Medicine and Applied Sciences in general. He noted that the Laboratory had been built not only to enhance research and graduate training in the field but to improve internally generated funds (IGF).
Dr. Boris Baidoo, Chief Executive Officer of Boris B's Farms and Veterinary Services, described SVM, KNUST as one of the best in the country. He lauded KNUST’s efforts in making Veterinary Medicine a preferred course of study. He pledged to support the School in their upcoming projects.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Kwasi Obiri-Danso, in his remarks commended Staff of School of Veterinary Medicine for the good work done. He expressed his appreciation to Dr. Baidoo for his continued support to the School.
